Weather:
We’re still outside.
It’s almost Thanksgiving and I have to say I’m not a fan. I like the 4 day weekend but I don’t like turkey, stuffing, gravy, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce or gravy. It’s just not my favorite holiday. But this is the last year. Next year we’re finally going to have our own taco thanksgiving. Basically it’ll be veggie burritos, homemade salsa, tamales, maybe boiled peanuts. You know awesome stuff. So if that sounds like your cup of tea you should RSVP now for 2012.
The other thing I’m not that a fan of is the shopping crush of Black Friday. I still have a working VCR and a non-flat tv. If you plan on doing some holiday shopping this Friday at least try and give money to someone making things happen here is a short list I’d suggest looking into:
– Get your lady something nice for the apartment at Little Paper Planes and while your there pick yourself up a tshirt.
– Need grip? Stop by Uprise or visit Steve out at Yeah.
– Get a calendar, a zine or Anders’ book over at Quimbys
Of course if your looking for printed material I’d suggest getting something fantastic from Parking Block Publishing. New zines from Jeremy Tubbs and Lisa Romero are hot off the press.
Art?
If you haven’t seen Don Pendleton’s online show "The Jaws of Life" you owe it to yourself to take a look. There are also a few collaborative paintings he did with Mark Penxa for sale over here.
In other art news next Friday, December 2nd, I’m proud to be a part of the "Text, Drugs and Rock n Roll" show at Maxwell Collette. I’m really happy with what I made for it. I’ll post up pictures next month but stop by the opening and check out all the great work in person if you can. It’s going to be an really outstanding show. The same night "Hold Fast To Dreams" is also opening over at Believe Inn. Two of my favorite people, Alex Cohen and Oscar Arriola, will have work there. I’m already excited! If one show doesn’t get you out of the house the possibility of two awesome shows should.
Music?
I don’t usually post much about music but the O’My’s! just put out there first video for the song "My House" and its definitely worth a watch. They understand how to get a good groove going.
One last note about the holidays, if you know me or if you’ve followed Such Luck at all over the past few years you know about the yearly holiday mailer. In the past I’ve sent out tattooed hand keychains, calendars, childrens stories and other swell stuff. Well it’s that time of year and I’m starting to put together the list. Send your address if you want to get something awesome in the mail. Also if you wonder where I am for the next month I’ll probably be working on that.
These things happened.
This balloon randomly lived in our apartment for 2 months.
Coldbringer.

Tony moved out to SF. So SF people if you want a good guy to push around with or hang out and shoot photos with or eat tacos with now you got one.
On 11/11/11 we headed to the Field Museum. I haven’t been in years. It’s a pretty amazing building. They put a lot of work into the look of it.
This was one of my favorite things.
You’re not supposed to touch this. .
Of course I had to visit the Mold-a-ramas.
Walking the park in autumn.
The Cultural Center is always worth a visit.
Of course there’s been some skating. Morley over the rail.
Ravenswood has been the spot where things normally end up .
It’s pretty good for sitting back with a cup of coffee..
Or you can charge it .
There’s always a steady flow of passerbys..
Nick P. over the leaves. I have one more roll with some Ravenswood shots and that’ll probably be it until next year.
Wilson? Still part of life.
Sometimes the usual spots and the usual routines get to you and you say "I had enough.".
And then you head to Milwaukee to skate for the day. Kyle and Dave’s pictures from this day are up over on Dude Life. There’s some footage that may surface in the future.
Dave recently celebrated a birthday.
So did Nate. Other notable November birthdays? My sisters, my sister in law, Tasha, Alex, Anders…there’s a bunch more.
Nick P. grinder.
Kyle ollie over the embedded vhs tapes.
Nate over the top of the lump.
Tracks were walked.
This spot ended up being more challenging and more fun than I thought. Beachy front tail in..
Post-szechuan sustenance.
This is the only good thing about winter..
I think that’s enough for now.
