playing slow pitch with the angels of slumber

Weather:
Brutal sunstroke with occasional violent downpours

Sometimes you walk cause the bus isn’t there and then the bus drives by and you keep walking and you miss the next bus and sometimes it makes you grouchy but then again you’d miss this if you were on the bus…

Licked clean?
Memorial Day weekend brought out the early morning crew in full force. Eric runs OMSB which is a great resource for Chicagos over-30 skateboarders. He also makes fantastic art and I’ve been pulling teeth trying to get him to send me some. Here he is waiting to drop in as the kids use the extension for loafing.
Check the setup

Alex wins the lurker of the weekend award. If you went to Wilson he was there. The whole weekend. Doing nollie hardflips over the hip. All weekend. In hundred degree heat. I wish I had the energy.

True Skate Rat

Sunday I went to the Museum of Science and Industry. I liked it better before it got Disnified and videogamey and they started charging. There’s still some of my old favorites…

They got rid of one of my old favorites but at least they have a nice picture of the Paul Buyon exhibit.

Look how happy that giant lumberjack is

Then we went to the main event, the Leonardo invention exhibit. They used those little drawing model men to illustrate things.

Parchute

This guy was getting tortured.

Browbeaten

This part broke.

I sure wish Da Vinci would've invented the drinking fountain

Filming in progress for the Da Vinci skate video. The title?

He invented stair jumping?

Next week more drawings less holiday photos.
