Quality Tricks Chex Mix
This week is the NBA All Star game so in honor of my favorite NBA superhero Agent Zero I’m bringing you an easy to make treat that is delightfully snackable and probably somewhat healthy. I’m not sure about that. I didn’t do any type of nutritional testing but I did avoid using bacon fat so that’s something good.
First your going to need to get your ingredients together: Rice Chex Mix, Goldfish Pretzels, Garlic Bagel Chips, dry roasted peanuts, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, chili powder, cajun spices and butter. Sometimes I add in hot sauce. Tapatio or Louisiana both work pretty good.

Put 9 cups of the Rice Chex into a big bowl. Usually these recipes ask you split that up with 3 cups of corn and 3 cups wheat but then you end up with 3 boxes of slightly empty cereal. I’d suggest picking the one you like best and just using that.

Next add in a cup of the Goldfish pretzels, a cup of the peanuts and a cup of the garlic bagel chips smashed into very small pieces. You can either crumble them by hand or beat them with a hammer. The back of a spoon will work too.

Cut 6 tablespoons of butter.

Microwave it until it’s melted. 40-50 seconds.

Make sure it’s nice and liquidated.

Add in 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce, 1 teaspoon seasoned salt, 1 teaspoon cajun spices, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/2 teaspoon chili powder. Give it a good stirring. If you plan on adding hot sauce add some now.

Pour and stir until you get everything evenly coated. You should be able to tell cause you’ll see the spicing glaze on the mix.

Heat the oven up to 250. Spread the mix thinly on a cookie sheet and put it in. Cook it for an hour.

Stir the mix and flip it over every 15 minutes. After an hour spread it out on paper towels and let it cool for fifteen minutes.

Put it in a bowl and get to snacking! Please take a moment and note my sleeping cat. She’s not that into my cooking.

You can bag it up in ziplocs for future snacking. You can also mix in some M & Ms for a pretty awesome sweet/salty combination.

Pretty easy stuff. You can always substitute your own favorite spices. Get in the kitchen and see what you can come up with.
Good? Good!
