Weather:
Hot. Start sweating constantly.

This is something that will happen:
Saturday, June 27th, the opening for the David Horvitz show ‘Impossible to See the Whole Thing at the Same Time’ at Believe Inn. If that’s not reason enough to go to the opening, Golden Age will be stocking the gift shop with stuff that you like and stuff that you don’t know you like yet. I’m really looking forward to seeing how it falls into place.

These are the things that have happened:

I went to Jay’s and got a beef.

Jay's Beef - Italian Beef

I liked the peppers. The beef was pretty good. All in all, not a bad sandwich. The fries were just okay.

We also went to Crisp. This is owned by the same family behind one of my all time neighborhood favorites, Budacki’s Drive In. I know a lot of my friends won’t be up for venturing over to try it but I enjoyed it and filled to the brim. I kept thinking that the concept should spread. They have Korean burritos, Korean Bowls, excellent fries and a variety of chicken offerings with various spicing sauces. It could be like a Korean Chipolte with a better menu and more fantastic stuff. I hope somebody takes the concept and makes a go of it.

Crisp

It was momentarily dry at one point. Here’s Nick, freshly back on board after an ankle injury, make sure the drain keeps draining.

Nick vs. the drain

Here’s Spencer doing the same. Kids, if you get to the park and its wet you need to do your part and make it dry. Teamwork.

Spencer vs. the drain

I saw this pizza ad when I was waiting for the train and it pushed me over the edge. Okay the girl on the left, I get her. She’s hoping that this ad will lead to commercials and commercials will lead to acting jobs and one day she’ll be cast as the best friend in a romantic comedy. The guy on the right, I get him. He was told to look like he was in love with the pizza and he has some acting skills cause I truely believe he’s going to violate the pizza. The screaming guy, I don’t get him. He just yelling and looking weird and grabbing the one girl’s arm to ruin her pizza fun. Who is this guy? How did he get in this pizza ad? I would have let it all slide but the two girls in the middle are sharing a piece of pizza. They’re both holding it and eating it at the same time. I’m down for lesbian stuff but I’m not buying that anyone, ever, in the history of pizza eating has felt the need to eat a pizza that way. Wouldn’t that end up in some kind of grease scalding? Just terrible.

Pizza ad that drove me insane

So after being enraged I went and had an unflattering portrait drawn in the window of Uncle Fun.

Uncle Fun's Artist Series - Rev. Aitor

This is part of Uncle Fun’s monthly artist in the window series. I’ll be in there in November. I’ll let you know about that when it gets closer. This is Aitor drawing me. He told some of the most amazing barber stories.

After the portrait I met up with all kinds of people for a rousing game of bowling. I didn’t take any pictures. I bowled terribly. I’m pretty sure I came in last place. Fun time though.

Timber Lanes

They have a Pirates of the Carribean pinball machine that I ruled while I was waiting for people to show. Free game? No problem. I’ll challenge anyone to a head to head match on that. The price of Coors Light went up. They added in the tiniest .25 to let you know.

3.25

I don’t know who it is but they appear to be on a spree.

Snack

Sunday was the closing reception for the Ferris Bueller show.

Porous

It was great working with Gabe and H. and I’m really glad Porous got us all together. I had a lot of fun.

Bullshit. Its almost the end of June and it fluctuates between cold and rainy. I’m assuming next week it will be a hundred and humid. Where’s the normal June weather?

Ferris Bueller at Believe Inn

The Ferris Bueller show comes down this week. There’s a closing thing-a-maroo on Sunday, June 21st from 1:00-4:00. That’ll be your last chance to buy any of the work so stop by if you can.

This is amazing. Shawn Hebrank does it again.

This is what’s been happening. I couldn’t properly order them. Not enough time. Please forgive me.
