Weather:
Spring warming into summer. Finally.
I’m behind. I got tons of skate stuff and art stuff and exciting news to post up but I’m behind. So I’m going to try and post all of that and get caught up over the weekend. We’ll see. This is all about my trip to New York a few months back. If that doesn’t interest you please come back later.
It took us forever to get there. It was the first time I’d been in one of those weird airport situations with the constant cancellations. On the way there our plane had to stop and refuel because we were waiting in the air so long. It was a long day of travel.

I was pretty interested in these cab touchscreens. They had maps and the news. They should get those here.

These are the clouds that kept us delayed.

We met Tasha on the Lower East Side. She brought beer.

Delicious Thai food. This place had the best bathroom. There was a wall size waterfall/wooden fountain.

This ones for Soma.

We dropped off our stuff and headed to the bar.

Our host and guide. Thanks again for everything Tasha!

On our way to sleep.

Obamamania!

We stayed in a neighborhood of Dominicans and Hasidic Jews. Lots of serious walking Jews in traditional garb and lots of guys hanging out discussing stuff on stoops. I don’t see that in Chicago as much.

So many spots. I gotta head back for this one.

The amount of graffiti is pretty astounding. I don’t think they have a task force to buff stuff.

Saw some familiar names.

I liked the way this read.

Shut em down.

Going big with the rainbow drips.

Another familiar name.

I think this was an elementary school. Its pretty much impossible to walk around and not be inspired.

Probably my favorite meal of the trip. Breakfast at Lil Frankies.

This ones for Marfa.

More Obamamania.

The great Joe Strummer.

Tompkins Square Park.

This looks like fun.

These bricks keep you from lurking but I thought I’d lurk anyway. Yikes. Not comfortable at all. Kinda like skate stoppers for sitting.

I was hoping this was real but it was for art tshirts or something.

Gene wasn’t there. I was hoping to meet him.

Don’t walk up or sit on these steps!

Banksy or rip-off?

Chomp! On an unrelated note, they should really put that out on DVD.

I had to get a slice at a slice spot. I hate deep dish pizza.

Stair spot with curb gap.

Jesus behind the bars.

I was superpsyched on seeing the Nieves show at Printed Matter.

I got to check out this out of print Chris Lindig zine.

Awesome show. It was hot and crowded and I guess that’s a good thing.

Nieves has some great Wesley Willis zines.

Then I got another slice.

I just like this picture.

New York – birthplace of slang.

New York – sidewalks filled with garbage.

This toasted beer was delectable.

Hope street.

New York Garlic Bagel.

Bunny wheatpaste.

Dreaming in Brooklyn.

The perfect bookstore cat chair.

Anti-banking rise up graffitti.

Another familiar sight.

This reminded me of every Law and Order episode. Somebody’s jogging and then they see a dead body and the opening credits roll.

We saw the Mitzva Tank everywhere we went that day.

Meet up spot.

Well worn.

This street vendor had a dianetics umbrella.

This was a bit of a mystery.

It looked like a set for a snuff film.

Get creeped.

This was the window display for some expensive place. I liked the display. Didn’t go inside.

I saw this a block after Alex Olson skated by.

I can’t wait to go back. There’s so much more to explore.

Soon.
