we are communicating using our new language
Thursday, April 2nd, 2009Weather:
Rain with some freak snowstorms thrown in to ruin spring.
I’ve been busy and a bit scatterbrained and this month will only get more hectic. Lots of great things on the way.
I’m a big fan of art trades and sending mail. If you didn’t know that you might want to take some time and look around the site. Here is some of the wonderful work that came via the USPS over the last few months.
I got this from Shawn Hebrank. He does some inventive tattoo work and is one of the most prolific artists I know. He sends the best mail. Do yourself a favor and pick up one of his new shirts. Bird Flu Crew!

Lisa Romero has been on a killing spree lately. She’s doing some amazing things with recycled and repurposed elements. Visit her site for a chance to win the bruiser bunny. She sent me all sorts of fun stuff including this thoughtful owl.

Jason Adams aka the Kid. This interview on SLAP about his video parts is one of the best things ever.

I also received this odd letter in the mail.

There’s a possibility it originated with this gentleman.

If you are in San Francisco Friday you should attend the Me vs. Me show. If not you are a real clown.
If you are in Chicago on Friday you should go see Closing In’s second show. Show starts at 7:00pm at the Plaines Projects 1822 S. Des Plaines Chicago, IL. Bummed I’m missing it.
A few Fridays ago we went on an adventure to Bridgeport but first we had to stop for a romantic dinner.

Allison had a pepper and egg sandwich, only available on Fridays during the Catholic holidays.

I went with the Italian Beef.

Let’s take a closer look at the Portillo’s Italian Beef.

I got no time for the jibba jabba.

Then it was over to the Second Bedroom and Medicine Cabinet Gallery. Here is the mastermind behind it all, Chris Smith.

JT Rogstad in the Medicine Cabinet. As one of the Medicine Cabinet Alumni I will be part of a group show coming up next month. More about that next time.

Edra Soto’s Lesson Plan – Second Bedroom.

Her students created this city.

It was top notch.

I wish I could’ve been there when the kids got to see it.

Heading to New York tomorrow.
Expect a post about that some time in August.
