Occasional snow with 80s by the weekend. Uh-huh.
Mike McGovern’s opening is on Thursday. You can find out more by clicking the image below. Get out and see him before he heads back west.
Saturday, May 2nd, is the next Closing In show. Click on the former governor for all the details.
Lately there’s been some adventuring. We visited the giant American Gothic.

Then we found this spot. It should be good to go this summer.

Alex. Unable to contain his excitement.

Then we went to eat cuban sandwiches at Cafecito.

We also went and saw art but I didn’t take any good pictures.

You ever see that movie the Wiz?

Later in the week we went back in time to eat pizza at Marie’s on Lawrence.

Red Leather seats, Old Style, pizza being made in the front window. It was unbelievably comfortable and timeless.

Great Lake pizza in Andersonville is in a different world. It’s very small with a very limited menu of fresh local ingredients.

This is my favorite, the number 4. My cat Choo is in the background.

We ventured out of the city to buy carnival prizes and ended up at Pita Inn. It was good but not the best thing I ever had so I was surprised at the business they were doing. The place was absolutely packed. Not a seat available and a constant line for take out. Maybe I didn’t order the right thing.

Szymanski’s back. Here he is at Wilson with a bum in the background with a snuggie.

Snuggie bum.

There was some skating a while ago. Here I get crailish and Nate snaps the photo.

Nate goes back smith.

More food? Sure. I’m not sure when this is from. Sassy eggs at Overeasy.

Spencer had a birthday!

With cake!

Tony had some cake!

Then he talked to Danielle who shares a birthday with Spencer!

Chris showed up and there was a bizarre accident!

My pants and his jacket ended up covered in mysterious hunks of garlic!

Okay that’s enough excitement for a while. I’ve been eating these sandwiches at Ba Le Bakery because they are surprisingly cheap and extremely tasty.

Just $2.95.

DC Chris was in town.

It’s starting to get summerish. Friday night scratchoffs at the plaza.

We did some filming.

Here is the promo for the Buster Bear promo that should be finished by the end of summer.
Saturday was actually warm.

I like this better in black and white. Spencer on the qp.

Morley skates till the wheels come off.

Buster Bear models.

The famed bean coozie.

After a full day of skating we went out for a lovely dinner with Juan and Danielle. Colombian chicken.

The chicken had a nice garlicness. Colombian steakhouse salsa.

After dinner we headed to the Golden Gloves. It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a high school gym.

It was a lot of fun to be there with the families and friends cheering. The fights were mostly good but the best goes to the women. They know how to throw fists.

Spring didn’t last long. This reminded me of a Bob K photo. (I think it was Bob K)

Abandoned/evicted? Interesting graffiti.

Here’s a ton of old footage. Pretty much everything that I had that still needed to be posted. Now I can start off fresh and get backlogged all over again.
Next week? Probably New York stuff.
Or maybe some sort of a meltdown.
Either way it should be good.
