Weather:
Halloweenish?
The lights never came on tonight. Kind of bothersome.
Friday two of the best people in the world grow older so if you see Lou or Juan wish them a happy birthday and buy them a beer. (or in Lou’s case Gatorade) While we’re on the subject of Lou, his show with Eric Frazier opens next Friday at EXP. The recepetion/meet and greet is from 6-10. I’ve been lucky enough to get a few sneak previews of the stuff he’s going to show but put together I think it’s gonna drop some jaws.
New shirts, new art, new news from me next week. If you emailed me and I haven’t gotten back at you give me a few days (or weeks). Things have been in go mode for a while. I don’t feel like I’ve caught my breath or slowed down in weeks.
Szechuans.

We watched this happen on Saturday morning.

Charlie goes backsmith. I retook this cause I thought the first one wasn’t properly exposed and what not. After giving it a day or two I have to say that I like the original a thousand times better. It may not be technically correct but it captures fall much better. (click to see)
Neen Williams kickflip over the hip. Properly caught.

Went down to check out the Uprise Halloween Best Trick contest at the Plaza.

A lot of the old dudes talk smack about the plaza but after skating it in traffic I give it a high-five and a thumbs up. Smooth concrete, benches, curbs and little bump things. If it was closer I’d be there all the time. The best trick contest was on the upledge.

The best trick contest is good as an idea but in reality it seemed like people horking themselves into each other trying tricks they’d never c0me close to landing. I think they should’ve narrowed the field first. I took some footage but didn’t bother editing it down. I assume Uprise’ll put thiers up sometime in the future. Judging.

Big Tim tied for first and he deserved it. I think the trick they singled out was the switch manual switch flip out.

Here’s a random edit from Saturday of Nate, Charlie and me at the spot of the summer.
Never adjust your trucks. It’s a slippery slope.
