BBQerrific!

Just another reminder that the Such Luck show at EXP Gallery has opened. The reception is on Friday the 14th from 6-10. Hopefully I will see you all there.

The Carbon Copy Commodity show at Bell-Roberts opened last week as well. It is being curated by Rui Tenreiro of Soyfriends who is a pretty swell fellow. I wish I could make it over and see it in person.

Lisa Romero has updated her site with some new shirts and assorted goodies available.

Natasha Gornik is moving to New York shortly and I will miss having her around as my adventuring partner. We went and checked out the Jeff Wall exhibit at the Art Institute. Some was pretty good but personally I’m not a fan of the still life photography. Even though it’s super huge and detailed it’s still just a picture of a rusty sink. What do I know? For those of you that remember ‘the lightbulb sanctuary’ he has a picture of it. We also checked out Cary Primeau’s Neglected Beauty show. Tasha has been working on a new series for most of the summer. It’s been cool seeing it come together and I can’t wait to see them printed and displayed. The Mask Series(NSFW).

And finally, The Brothers Vick are playing phonograph records at Streetside Cafe (Armitage and Kedzie) tonight at 10pm. It’s short notice but hopefully it’ll become a regular happening. Disguises are encouraged, and usually rewarded.

And now the Labor Day recap….

Friday, we went and hung up the show. Well we kinda figured things out and Lou got serious with the tape measure and the level.

Sunday night we went to Juan and Danielle’s and ate desserts. Allison said that the peach cobbler was the highlight of the weekend.

Labor Day I showed up early and I was pretty surprised to see Peter out for the early szechuan 2 days in a row. He has some of the best high speed flow I’ve ever seen.

Suhail made time for a frontside slide and roll.

Morley Music was there with the best shirt ever.

Jose is on injured reserve but he still came out to enjoy the deadly sins. I filmed a little interview about the breakage with him so I’ll post that up in the next few weeks.

Tastes like smarties and it gets todays extreme generation amped up to go bananananas!

It don't get more extreme than radiation

I declared myself the winner of the hot dog eating contest.

It was a holiday so the park was packed with slack jaws. These youngsters decided to tattoo each other on the dirtiest bench on earth. Hepatitis is punk rock.

We ended Labor Day skating a manual pad and my leg reopened.

Sometimes you get worked

The frontpage update and site restructuring should be done soon.

I’m getting old.
