Weather:
Sadly, somewhat winter.
I’m sure I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it again but I’m never sleeping in cause the weathermen say the snows coming. It was mostly dry all weekend and Saturday was t-shirt warm. Never again!
I was in St. Louis last week so no posting. My apologies.
Porous Walker has been up to some oddly corporate sponsored mischief. Not sure what its about but he made a nice picture and says some nice things.
Said and Done is taking thier monstersized project and putting it on display. If you happen to be over in Canada please attend and take some pictures. I’d like to see all the pictures on display. There’s some serious work there.
I’m working on stuff. Don’t bother me about it.
Nick Peterson sent over a picture he made from Portland. I think he’s using it for a zine hes putting together. I’ll let you know where to find it when he puts it out.
Mark Gildersleeve has been working on lots of new pictures and has been kind enough to share them here. As always outstanding. He’s off this weekend so if the weather holds we’ll be piloting the skate planks.
In keeping with the old time theme I went to visit the former Chicago Historical Society which was revamped and renamed the Chicago History Museum. It doesn’t get as much hype as the Art Institute or the Museum of Science and Industry but they have some interesting stuff in the collection like Lincoln’s deathbed. Its a pretty small bed for such a tall fellow. They had to lay him diagonal. Its not very well protected and you could probably lay down in it if you were sneaky.
The thing I really wanted to see was the Ed Paschke exhibit. Besides having a ton of his work, they recreated his studio/workspace. He kept his brushes in Pringles cans. Here is a photo I took before being yelled at.
Now I feel like my piles of old newspapers aren’t so bad.
